The Last Thursdays with Somnath Adhikari

On 26th May, 2016, Entrepreneur Somnath Adhikari joined us for our continual series of ‘Last Thursdays’ at Hotel Namaskar for a discussion on the existing scenario of industry in the Biratnagar with over more than 60 people.

The program started with moderator Basanta Adhikari, Bikalpa an Alternative Director addressing the audience followed by a welcome note by Ms. Rima Shrestha.l, Director of Hotel Namaskar. She introduced everyone about the program and shared the objective of program.

During an hourly event the Speaker shared his Entrepreneurial journey and about his work. He was born and raised in Biratnagar. He completed his Higher education from Gograha College and after passing the Lok Sewa. He went to Civil Service Job. He was a government employee for 5 years and then completed his study in 1990 from Biratnagar. He did his masters in rural development. Currently He is secretary of Chambers of Industries Morang. Mr Adhikari is a regular writer and an author of many books on journalism and business among other disciplines. Despite being the student of Rural development Studies. Mr Adhikari is a regular writer and an author of many books on journalism and business among other disciplines. He also gives mentoring for business prospect. He is also a recipient of awards like Silver Jubilee award from Government of Nepal and Jerusalem Jury Award from Government of Israel among others. He stressed young people not to shy away from trying out new ideas. One should have to do market survey before doing any business. He also talked about the preparation one needs to do while doing a business. One of the most intriguing things about him was he is always ready to help to the Young people who needs suggestion about the business. His ideas and struggles as an entrepreneur were a great listen and managed to inspire those present to become job-creators rather than job seekers.
