Bikalpa Fellowship 2022-23

Bikalpa is a public policy think tank working at the grassroots to develop a culture that favors individual and economic freedom in spheres of personal lives and policy issues. We empower people with our research, education, and advocacy programs. COVID -19 is posing a severe threat to our lives in all areas, including education. Bikalpa wants to organize a fellowship program for the young students that will train and educate them beyond their textbooks and understand the values of freedom and entrepreneurship.

About the fellowship

Bikalpa fellowship is a knowledge-based capacity-building program where youth can enroll and participate in various discussions, training, workshops, and extracurricular activities and benefit from the networking throughout the year. 

This fellowship will educate, empower, and engage youths of Biratnagar Metropolitan City and help to enhance their leadership capacity beyond their textbook. Besides this, the enrolled youth volunteers will gain Knowledge, Skills, Exposure, and Internship opportunities to enhance their Leadership capacity. 

The Fellowship program will be followed by the orientation program after the preliminary screening of volunteers. The orientation program will enroll 38 selected Fellows (a boy and a girl) from 19 wards of Biratnagar. The fellows will meet monthly through seminars, discussions, guest lectures, and planning sessions which will help to enhance their network, knowledge, and capacity. 

Besides this, the monthly sessions will also help to enhance their communication, networking, negotiation, critical thinking, research, and running a successful advocacy campaign skills that will be helpful for their personal and professional growth. These fellows will be closely associated with Bikalpa’s mission and promote the values of accountability, freedom, and entrepreneurship at their ward level. Young people between 18-25 are highly encouraged to apply for the fellowship program. 

Bikalpa will provide the following incentive to the shortlisted volunteer.  

  • Small grants to take the initiative and carry out activities at their respective localities.
  • Internship opportunities for the selected ones to work closely with Bikalpa 
  • Opportunity to participate in Bikalpa program activities.
  • Network, Knowledge, Skill, Exposures, Leadership, and Capacity building opportunities. 
  • Letter of Recommendation and Certificate after the completion of the program.
