Every Last Thursday of every Gregorian month, Bikalpa an Alternative jointly organize The Last Thursday’s program in Biratnagar with Hotel Namaskar, E4N and Makalu Television. Economist/Professor Mr. Bhesha Prasad Dhamala, was invited as a guest speaker in the program. Two hours discussion program from 4:00 to 600:pm starts 15 minutes late due to late arrival of the participants.
Basanta Adhikari, Director of Bikalpa and Alternative started the program welcoming the participants and the guest speaker. Rima Shrestha, Director of Hotel Namaskar shared the objective of the program. As a program structure, 2 minutes time is given each two of the participants so they can share about their new venture. Suman Magrati, president of Growing Youth Club and Rima Shrestha, Director of Hotel Namaskar share about their new venture to the audience.
After their pitch, guest speaker Mr. Dhamala share his view on the role and importance of the entrepreneurship on economic development. He highlighted that entrepreneurs are the engine for the economic growth for any nation and society. He also stressed that while talking about the development we should not only think in terms of economic growth, we should equally have to consider about the social development aspects. After the guest speaker speech, participants had a open discussion with the speaker for 45 minutes where the speaker clarifies the participant’s queries. After the open discussion, program was formally ended at 5:45 heading for tea and informal networking. The program was recorded by Makalu television and will be telecast later. Total 70 numbers of participants took part in the program.
