It started off as a healthy discussion as to what can be done to better the current situation in the price of goods. As a result of the lockdown, there is a constant rise in the price of essential goods. During the discussion, the participants come with some vital points that when there is a shortage of essential goods in markets the price hikes itself. We can’t blame morally entrepreneur for it. Instead, here the role of the government is also important at this time to fulfill the supply chain of the market. Some pointed out that while talking in the current scenario due to the Lockdown the market mechanism has not been functioning properly. The supplier hasn’t been able to come out to meet the demand which has lead the market to come standstill. Also, the price has artificially raised due to government intervention in the current situation.

Furthermore, other participants argued that when the government normally fixes the prices of the goods then there will be misbalance in the market chain system. Price comes through the demand and supply of Equilibrium. However, some other participants added we don’t have a proper market ecosystem. Our entrepreneurs are not educated and there is a lack of knowledge of the market system. Overall, the participants also shared their valid views on the topic. The session resulted in a fruitful and impassioned discussion.

There were 13 attendees present in the online discussion.
