As a regular event Bikalpa an Alternative organize the Friday Discussion program twice a month (every alternative Friday). The program was organized at the venue of Hotel Namaskar, Biratnagar at 4:00pm onwards. On 12 December 2014 discussion was made on the topic of “Minimum Wage” where 10 number of participants were present to discuss their view.The program is designed to engage and inform the core members on the ideas of free market economy and classical liberal ideas. Discussions are made on the contemporary issues (local or national) through free market perspective. Article is selected and shared within the members to prepare oneself for the program. On this series, discussion was made on the Article “Minimum Wage”, where participants discuss on the advantage and disadvantage of the minimum wage. Discussion was very helpful to make clear that how minimum wage reduce the employment opportunity for the unskilled, poor and teenagers. It also make easy to understand that minimum wage hurts the small business, because they cannot pay the wage to their staffs, which force them out of the competition. Discussion was live, healthy and positive, that ended at 6:45 pm.
