Friday Discussion is a program designed to engage and inform the core members on the ideas of free market economy and classical liberal ideas. Discussions are made on the contemporary issues (local or national) through free market perspective. Article is selected and shared within the members to prepare oneself for the program. The program is organized at the venue of Hotel Namaskar, Biratnagar on every alternative Friday (twice a month).
On 29th July members of ‘Friday Discussion’ got together to discuss about the Article “Nature of Governemnt ,” by Ayn Rand
During the discussion there were 10 participants who discussed on the Article.The participants represented the particular sentences or phrases from the essay they could relate to the most. After they explained the relevance of the lines they choose, the discussion began based on the agreements or disagreements on the views just presented.In this essay the writer had presented about the Nature of the Government. As we know State is the Institution and its role to maintain rule of Law and protect civic liberty made of the individual. A country may prosper in the dictatorship but they will not have political Freedom. State is not our ruler but it is our protector So Politics is not above the Rule of Law of the country. Before 1920 there used to be police state in the country where everything was controlled by state. In discussion participant discussed about the current political instability of the country and some argued that due to lack of poor governance and Rule of law we had to face a lot of problem. Government should provide platform to the entrepreneur and should make infrastructure for the development of country.
1:30 hour of the discussion session ended with a lot of the participants’ concerns discussed upon, and a general understanding to Nature of Government.
