Bikalpa- an Alternative with the support of CIPE, organized an entrepreneurship talk show program called “Udhyami ka Kura” on 29 November 2023 at Hotel Shree Krishna Biratnagar. The program was organized to inspire and motivate aspiring entrepreneurs’ young generation with the real stories of entrepreneurs. The program also provides a platform for networking and idea sharing.
Program Details :
For this Udhyami ka kura session, Mr. Navin Rijal was invited as the guest speaker. Mr. Navin Rijal is the president of Morang Bypar Sangh, central member ( FNCCI), and managing director of Rijalco. Managing Director of Rijalco.The program started at 3:O0 pm with a welcoming speech by Mr. Basanta Adhikari, director of Bikalpa an Alternative. He welcomed the participants and introduced the guest speaker, Mr Navin Rijal, to the audience.
Mr Rijal started his speech by sharing his journey of becoming an entrepreneur. Mr Rijal said he was born and raised in Biratnagar. He completed his schooling at Janta Namuna School and earned a bachelor’s degree at Mahendra Morang College Biratnagar. However, pursuing a master’s degree at Degree College was halted as he candidly admitted his disinterest in academia. While studying for his master’s degree, he thought of getting a job and went to Kathmandu. Despite a six-month stint in the capital, job opportunities eluded him, prompting his return to Biratnagar, where his entrepreneurial journey unfolded.
He reminisced about his nascent entrepreneurial foray, initiating his first business by packaging grease obtained in bulk from wholesalers. He shared the meticulous process of overnight packaging, shedding light on his initial struggles. Mr. Rijal’s speech resonated with the audience as he recounted the rollercoaster of his business life experiences, reflecting on the challenges and victories. His unwavering faith amidst obstacles inspired him, propelling him towards successive triumphs.
He also informed us about how Rizal Tank and his other brands became famous brands in Nepal, how he came ahead of thousands of others in the market competition, and what kind of strategies to build in business and enterprise and modify in time. Speaking at the program, Rizal highlighted that it is very challenging to do business in Nepal in the current situation. Due to the lack of business-oriented policies in the state, not only the youth but also the business people are migrating.
Focusing on the youth, Rizal suggested that to become a successful entrepreneur, one should have the willpower and a lot of knowledge and experience regarding their business and enterprise. Even if he had to face various challenges to succeed in his business journey, even if he had to leave the business at some point, he urged him not to betray his resolve.
Rizal argued that success will be achieved if one can easily take the journey of struggle, move forward confidently, and maintain patience.He also shared his future plans to coordinate the establishment of industrial zones, take initiatives to build Biratnagar airport as a regional airport, take initiatives with the provincial government to promote religious, medical, sports, tourism, and agricultural sectors in Province 1, manage CCTV for the peace and security of Biratnagar and beautify the city. The event concluded on a high note, leaving the attendees enriched with invaluable insights.
Conclusion:
After his speech, there was a question and answer session where the participants asked various questions about entrepreneurship and starting a business. Mr. Rijal patiently answered all the questions and provided valuable insights. The Entrepreneurship Talk program was a great success, with around 116 participants attending the event.
