The Last Thursdays with Madhav Nidhi Tiwari

October 29 .Every Last Thursday of Gregorian month, Bikalpa an Alternative jointly organize the “Last Thursday’s” event at Biratnagar in coordination with Hotel Namaskar, E4N and Makalu Television. Objective of the program is to disseminate the ideas and knowledge about entrepreneurship through the sharing of successful entrepreneurs. Also the program creates an opportunity to do networking and share ideas. On the episode of October, Director of Hotel DibyaRatna, Entrepreneur Mr Madhav Nidhi Tiwari joined us for our continual series of ‘Last Thursdays’ at Hotel Namaskar for a discussion on the existing scenario of the Growing Hotel industry in the Biratnagar with over more than 60 people.

The program made the first move with a introduction Session.Session. Basanta Adhikari, Director of Bikalpa an Alternative moderated the program welcoming the participants and guest speaker. The objective of the Program was Shared by Mr.Yunesh Raj Shrestha.

Yester Years (Early Days):

After passing his High School from Biratnagar Mr Tiwari went to Kathmandu for his higher studies where he learned the skills of managing the money and be self dependent. Then he went to study Hotel Management in Cyprus.

As an Entrepreneur:

Mr Tiwari in partnership with his friends started Chinese Restaurant chain in putalisadak and Bluebird Mall Kathmandu. After many of his friends decided to go abroad, he turned his attention towards biratnagar where he utilize his Assets to establish Dibya Ratna Hotel. His passion for hotel business was the driving force behind establishing Dibya Ratna enterprise.

As an entrepreneur he had to face many challenges to establish Dibya Ratna as a brand. For the same reason he has forayed into the processed food, where he plans to open outlet of processed food in all the wards of Biratnagar. He has also began initiative for establishing a new recreation center for family and youths alike, which will boast of modern amenities. These are novel initiatives in a city like Biratnagar where according to Mr Tiwari, Hospitality sector is one of the least developed sectors. He also plans to invest in a 90 feet viewing tower which has immense potential to foster as the next center of attraction.

According to him one should be more honest to his occupation to achieve his goal. You should love and believe your work. The Participant listened enthusiastically to tales of his Journey.After the guest speaker concluded his deliberation speech, the floor was set open for interaction among the participants for an hour where Mr. Tiwari clarifies the participant’s queries. With this the program which had kicked off at 5:15 pm came to an end.
