Liberty Discussion is a program designed to engage and inform the core members on the ideas of market economy and classical liberal ideas. Discussions are made on contemporary issues (local or national) through open market perspective. The article is selected and shared within the members to prepare oneself for the program. The program is organized at the venue of Bikalpa – an Alternative on every alternative Saturday (twice a month).

Due to the amid of Coronavirus lockdown Bikalpa an Alternative conduct Liberty discussion online in collaboration with Network For Free Society on 4th April 2020 Saturday. The discussion was titled in Article “The World after Coronavirus”.

 The topic for the participants was naive to discuss but also discussion was revolved around the topic. The discussion among the participants in this session touched upon the role of government during this pandemic situation. Diverse opinions were floated and participants debated whether the Government should restrict the movement and monitor freedoms of the individual. Commenting on it some of the participants agreed on the decision of the government at this point it is right and we should follow the protocol of it. Some of the Participants asserted that choosing safety over freedom will eventually forfeit both so both freedom and safety are important for us. As we know no government plan is temporary and “Technology helps surveillance”. So, the technology used by the government can be abused in the future. There should be democratic checks and balances in government action at this place. During further discussion, Participants also discussed relative measures taken by the government in tackling the situation in the current scenario.
