The program is organized at the venue of Bikalpa – an Alternative on every alternative Saturday (twice a month).

Bikalpa an Alternative organized its Liberty Discussion Series on the topic  “Why Limit Government” on 02 January 2021. This week’s content of the article was quite provocative and conventional where diverse opinions were presented by participants.

The topic for the discussion was “why to limit government”. During the discussion hour, participants have a different opinion regarding the subject. The discussion began with expressing the views on the government’s role and responsibilities towards citizens. Participants shared that the government is an elected representative body formed by us. When we have limited government, then there are legal limits on its power, which will increase our freedom. The bigger the government, the more power and authority it takes, and the more rights it takes away. Some of the participants shared the main function of the government’s protection of people and their property.  The limited government also prevents the government from employing extensive control over people’s lives, freedom of speech, and actions. Moreover, it allows citizens to participate in political and social issues.

Furthermore, other participants added the government should be Accountable to their citizens because they are taxpayers and should Question the government constantly and consistently which will only make them work harder. Overall, the participants also shared their valid views on the topic. The session resulted in a fruitful and impassioned discussion.
