Discussions are made on contemporary issues (local or national) through open market perspective. The article is selected and shared within the members to prepare oneself for the program.

On March 17, 2023 Bikalpa an Alternative organized Liberty Discussion at Wake Cup café to discuss the article, ‘Economic Crisis in Nepal ‘.  The discussion highlights some significant causes of the economic crisis in Nepal, such as government regulations and the focus on populist ideas. The group emphasized the importance of national income through remittance and suggested the need for the government to draft policies to make emigration easier. This could help boost the economy by providing job opportunities and bringing in foreign currency. Participants also highlighted the potential for Nepal to prosper by exploring new avenues such as digital services, agro-tourism, and electricity production. These sectors have the potential to earn foreign currency and create job opportunities for the people of Nepal.

The discussion also shed light on Nepal’s challenges, such as policy corruption, lack of business environment, and haphazard government spending. Addressing these challenges is crucial for Nepal’s economic growth and development. The discussion also covered several issues, including the reasons for the different outcomes of investment decisions, the long-term environmental impact of investments, and the separation of powers among federal, provincial, and local level governments.

In conclusion, the session provided valuable insights into Nepal’s investment decisions and government structure. Overall, the discussion ended on a positive note that the future of Nepal can be prosperous if the country looks into the causes of the crisis and addresses its challenges.
