Every Last Thursday of Gregorian month, Bikalpa an Alternative jointly organize the “Last Thursday’s” event at Biratnagar in collaboration with Hotel Namaskar, Makalu Television and Merryland College (BBA) Biratnagar. Objective of the program is to disseminate the ideas and knowledge about entrepreneurship through the personal sharing of successful entrepreneurs. Also the program creates an opportunity to do networking and share ideas among the participants.
On 26th January 2017, Entrepreneur Sulav Budhathoki joined us for the 35th series of ‘Last Thursdays’ at Hotel Namaskar for a discussion on the existing scenario of industry in the Biratnagar with over more than 100 people.
The program started with moderator Basanta Adhikari, Bikalpa an Alternative Director addressing the audience. He introduced everyone about the program and shared the objective of program.
Mr. Budathoki shared his journey from being a job holder to an entrepreneur and shared his insights on essentials that are crucial to become a successful entrepreneur. During entire program he shared about his own observation and experiences about entrepreneurship. He was born and raised in average family. He also recalls that you should not born in Business man family to be an entrepreneur. Anybody can dream and be entrepreneur. In his early day of his life He used to work on the salary of 1400. Further he says that there was two path in his life. The first path to live happily and the second path to make other’s people’s life happy. Talking about his first path he had got good job with handsome salary from Japanese company. From where could live his happy life. He denied that offer and choose second path where he had to make other’s people life better and happy, it’s about Being blue blooded. He had to buy Informatics College, now called Islinton College. In his early startup of his college there was only 6 student in his college now 1200 student are getting foreign degree education from his college. He had to suffer a lot in initial phase. He worked very hard but there wasn’t any immediate recognition unlike his 1st path, He had no time for his family, which led him disappointed many times. He worked really hard 18 hours a day no weekend for years never said night or day. He is now the first Nepali to sign a Business Contract with a U K University Vice Chancellors and CEO of five colleges of Nepal.

Control: He is not driven by destiny. He is in control of what he want to do.
Ownership: He take responsibility of failure in any project that he is involved even though the project failed not because of him.
Endurance:
He do not run away from problems instead, face it and dealt with it so that He can change the problem into opportunity. No matter how long it takes or how difficult it is.
Self-Awareness:
He get motivated to do something important that he don’t like to do.
Self-Regulation:
He get out of sadness by himself. If he fells sad, he would reward himself by doing other things.
Empathy:
He had developed good communication skills where he can communicate with people based on their style.
Social Skill:
He can interact and influence people like him.
His ideas and struggles as an entrepreneur were a great listen and managed to inspire those present in the program to be an Entrepreneur .Mr Budathoki story was followed by Q&A from the participants. Around 118 people attended the event.
