Friday Discussion on Why Political Market Don’t Work

Friday Discussion is a program designed to engage and inform the core members on the ideas of free market economy and classical liberal ideas. Discussions are made on the contemporary issues (local or national) through free market perspective. Article is selected and shared within the members to prepare oneself for the program. The program is organized at the venue of Hotel Namaskar, Biratnagar on every alternative Friday (twice a month).

On this series, discussion was made on the Article of “Why Political Market Don’t Work”, where 13 numbers of participants took part to discuss their views. It was hot and live discussion where participants discussed about the Political Market and Private Market. In Free market there are benevolent player playing for their self Interest in the market through voluntary Private Cooperation but in political market there are political player such as politician Burocreat and Special Interest groups who are playing for their self interest representing tax payer’s money.

In discussion many participant disregarded the each other opinion. Some participant argued every political leader represents taxpayer’s money. Government mechanisms have reached in all area of our country. As a rational voter, it is also our responsibility to make our authority holder government accountable to their work On contrary to it some said Government Should create equal opportunity and should look equally to all the citizen. Opportunity means to create equal playing field to all the players in society so that everyone can grow. It means there should be equal rule to all. Also some argued that Government should only do the things that an individual can’t do for himself or herself and there should be limited role of government. Free market is only the way out for the growth of any economy.

The program was helpful to arouse many questions and good discussion. It was held on 15th April 2016, 4.30 pm and program was ended at 6:00pm.
