Bikalpa is a public policy think tank working at the grassroots to develop a culture that favors individual and economic freedom in spheres of personal lives and policy issues. Bikalpa is aiming to empower youths of Biratnagar and nearby region through the Youth in Policy and Entrepreneurship program, which will educate them on the issue of Public Policy, Governance, and Entrepreneurship values.

About the Program

Are you passionate about understanding Public Policy, Governance, and Entrepreneurship? Here is an opportunity for motivated individuals to learn and Engage with Bikalpa.

The “Youths in Policy and Entrepreneurship (YPE) “is a year-long fellowship program designed to educate and engage young individuals who are passionate to learn about public policy, governance, entrepreneurship, and the policy-making process in the Koshi province. Bikalpa will call for applications and intake 45 fellows, who will attend 4 days residential training. 25 fellows will be selected from the first phase of training, who will take part in the second round of 3 days training and get in-depth knowledge on the subject. These 25 fellows will be enrolled throughout the year and will closely engage with the Bikalpa team and members of the province assembly. Some of the selected fellow will have an opportunity to engage in internship with Bikalpa team, who will learn about the program coordination, research and advocacy, which will help to enhance their personal development and professional growth. All 25 fellows will participate in the regular monthly meetings where they will get an opportunity to explore more knowledge and harness their skills. The program also allows the unique opportunity to the selected fellow youths to engage with Provincial Assembly members and support in their parliamentary roles and responsibilities and be advocates of sound public policy and social change.

Objective of the Youths in Policy and Entrepreneurship (YPE)

To create a platform and educate youths of Biratnagar and nearby region about Public Policy, Governance, Entrepreneurship, and values of Prosperity, which will enable them to think critically and understand the cause of the problem and encourage them to be the catalyst of social change.
To empower and engage youths who will have an opportunity to learn from the fellowship program throughout the year and assist members of the provincial assembly in their parliamentary roles and responsibilities.
To develop their capacity and enhance their leadership, communication, networking, teamwork, negotiation, critical thinking, research writing, and running a successful advocacy campaign skills that will be helpful for their personal and professional growth in the future.

Why should you attend “Engaging Youths in Policy and Entrepreneurship (YPE)” Program?

Youth in-between the ages of 18 and 29, residing in Biratnagar and nearby region, who aspires to enhance their leadership and capacity for their personal and professional growth, passionate in understanding issue of Public Policy, Governance and Entrepreneurship, ready to work with the lawmakers and contribute for social change are highly encouraged to apply.
