Bikalpa, an Alternative, organized a Socratic Seminar on Entrepreneurship on May 13, 2023, for Bikalpa Fellowship Members. The event took place at Hotel Shree Krishna. It aimed to provide an engaging and thought-provoking platform for participants to explore different perspectives, exchange ideas, and critically analyze entrepreneurship’s key concepts and principles. The program also provided a valuable platform for participants to enhance their understanding of entrepreneurship, exchange ideas, and critically analyze the key concepts and principles in the field. The seminar drew the participation of 20 Bikalpa Fellowship Members, who were enthusiastic about delving into entrepreneurship and discussing its various aspects.
The program started with an ice-breaking introduction round, where participants got acquainted with one another. Following the introductions, the participants were divided into three reading groups, each assigned specific articles to read and present. Bikalpa members moderated the interactive session for each group. This structure allowed for a deeper exploration of entrepreneurship-related topics, as each group focused on different perspectives and themes. The assigned readings covered a range of subjects, including Why Care on Entrepreneurship, The Economic Role of Entrepreneurship, and social entrepreneurship.
Participants also stressed different roles entrepreneurship where they said economic role of entrepreneurship is multifaceted and essential for sustainable economic development. Entrepreneurial activities drive job creation, stimulate innovation, foster economic growth, and generate wealth. By embracing entrepreneurship, societies can benefit from increased productivity, improved living standards, and enhanced competitiveness in the global market.
Further participants also actively participated in the discussions, raising thought-provoking questions, and creating a presentation. Each group followed the presentation and shared their perspectives and ideas from various angles. During the presentation Participants analyze different aspects of entrepreneurship, such as risk-taking, innovation, market dynamics, and social impact. They also discuss the effectiveness of existing policies, identify gaps or challenges, and explore potential policy reforms that can enhance entrepreneurship and support the aspirations of young entrepreneurs.
