On, Saturday,  2 February 2019, regular participants gathered on the Bikalpa office for the regular formal Liberty Discussion. The discussion was titled in Article “The Morality of Capitalism”.

Liberty Discussion is a two-hour discussion program held every alternative Saturday twice a month from 3:30 pm onward at Bikalpa Office Biratnagar. The program is organized to engage core members and newcomers who are interested in the issue and ideas of Liberty, Public policy, and Political economy.

It was a well-discussed talk from different dimension about the provided topic during the discussion. When we talk about capitalism and Morality of Market then many are skeptical in this view. Many are unaware of the role of the market in the development of society. During a discussion, some participants argued that there are many problems in the society which couldn’t be solved through a government initiative. The market itself isn’t perfect to solve all the problems.

While can others said the function of government is to maintain Governance in society. Then only public institution and private institution function easily. The market can’t function easily when there are restrictions on competition. There will be the stage of monopoly the state treasury will only be benefited from such kind of policy. We also don’t have such kind of policy where the market can function easily and create wealth for everyone. Many participants were agreed to some point of view. Also, we had good conversation and continued to engage ourselves in discussing the simple role of markets in creating things.
