Liberty Discussion is a program designed to engage and inform the core members on the ideas of market economy and classical liberal ideas. Discussions are made on the contemporary issues (local or national) through open market perspective. The article is selected and shared within the members to prepare oneself for the program. The program is organized at the venue of Bikalpa – an Alternative on every alternative Saturday (twice a month).
On, Saturday, 27 April 2019, regular participants gathered on the Bikalpa office for the regular formal Liberty Discussion. The discussion was titled in Article “The Chinese Tale ”.
It was a very interactive and alive discussion. This week discussion was on the “Article The Chinese Tale” an old story which is related to central planning of the government. The discussion range from the different views of participants. Some of the participants spoke about how government policy leads to undermining the life of the common people. Taking the discussion forward some of the participants quoted that there is a lack of information to any entity such as government. So, while making the planning for any public good the government should focus on good policy. Further, more other issue was also discussed on “seen and unseen” consequences part of any public program relating to the examples of our government policies. The discussion gave us some key points which are lucrative in the sense of application for public policy. The session wrapped with a talk on the connection between forced government planning and individual choice of planning.
