The program is organized at the venue of Bikalpa – an Alternative on every alternative Saturday (twice a month).

On 2nd June 2018, in a continuation of Liberty discussion series.  The discussion was followed on the topic Politics without Romance. The discussion started with looking into the relationship between Politics in Economics. In the beginning of the discussion some of the participants stated that from the economist’s view in politics, ideology and party matter less than the incentives facing politicians. We call politicians our representatives and they often claim to be fighting for us but Public choice theory suggests by assuming that all individuals, including everyone in politics and government, are self-interested and act accordingly.

Likewise, some of the participant asserted that government action is the real problem. Instability of government had led to market failure in the country. They think free trade and market are dangerous and push for tariffs and quotas. So, the politician and other actors in political market got easy way out to fulfill their vested interest. Therefore, the focus should be on improving the living standard of the people t creating choices through market and government Accountable. However, some other participants were quite agreed to this view. In order to make economic growth, though markets fail, government fails, the policymakers should choose markets.
