Liberty Discussion on “7 Principles of Sound Public Policy”

Liberty Discussion is a program designed to engage and inform the core members on the ideas of market economy and classical liberal ideas. Discussions are made on the contemporary issues (local or national) through open market perspective. Article is selected and shared within the members to prepare oneself for the program. The program is organized at the venue of Bikalpa – an Alternative on every alternative Saturday (twice a month).

On 5th May 2018, the members of Liberty Discussion Group sat down at “Bikalpa Office to discuss the article, 7 Principles of Sound Public Policy.

In this Series, we discussed on a remaining point which was left in the previous discussion. It was a focused and interactive discussion. They talked about the general perception of spending public money to benefit themselves. Nobody can spend their own money on themselves rationally than others. When government increase the taxes to benefit the public then we have to understand that it is also demotivating the new players from entering the market, ultimately raising the market share and profiting from the existing players. Also, Government don’t have anything to give to other unless it takes anything from other. So, Government should be limited to as a protector of Civic liberties and maximizing everyone’s opportunities rather than launder free goodies to all.  Additionally, participant also asserted that it is not a matter who got elected but while making the policy on should really focus on liberty and good of the people because liberty matter to all.
