Friday Discussion on Public Goods and State Failure

Friday Discussion is a program designed to engage and inform the core members on the ideas of free market economy and classical liberal ideas. Discussions are made on the contemporary issues (local or national) through free market perspective. Article is selected and shared within the members to prepare oneself for the program. The program is organized at the venue of Hotel Namaskar, Biratnagar on every alternative Friday (twice a month).
On this series, discussion was made on the Article of “Public Goods and State Failure”, where 8 numbers of participants took part to discuss their views. It was hot and live discussion where participants discussed .

The program was held on 29th April 2016 from 4:00 pm onward. Discussion was helpful to know about the basic aspects of Public and State Failures.

In an hourly discussion the participant articulated their opinion. In the essay the writers explains that how government spend Public money on private goods with causes economic disaster. He also questioned about the Rationality of political leader and Bureaucrat in a political economy and how it has spoiled the whole system. Public goods are those goods which private market can’t provide efficiently to the public. During the discussion the participant revealed that the progress is important is for any country and for that government planning and vision is very important. One of the participants stated that since the source of revenue of any government is tax. So our local government utterly primary concern should be linking the Local VDC with road so that villagers could uplift their economic condition. Also reasoning of the state failures was discussed during the discussion which helps to ponder the question on present condition of our country. The whole discussion got revolved around the writer essay.
