On 20th February 2021,Bikalpa in association with South Asia Students For Liberty organized a colloquium on Uberization of the World. Students from varied education background participated in the event. The Colloquium featured a Socratic discussion format wherein the participants first studied certain portion of the article and engaged in holistic discussion on the subject matter. The readings included key points on Entrepreneurship and how innovation is encouraged in a free society.
The readings also made a case for deregulation with a chapter on Candle Maker’s petition which sarcastically defends protectionism, in the process illustrating the many vices that such policies bring to the general consumers. Furthermore, the readings included other concepts of entrepreneurship that included creative destruction and economic freedom. The 3 hour long session involved holistic discussion and reading on those topics mentioned above, following which the students conducted a Vox Pop on 4 key topics of individual and economic freedom. In total, 21 students and youths from 6 different institution attended the program. The program is a part of Bikalpa Fellowship capacity building workshop.
