Bikalpa fellow members and first-year Bachelors of Social Work students from Mahendra Morang Adarsh Multiple College jointly organized a blood donation program at Traffic Chowk on 28th of February 2021, from 8 am to 11 am. The program’s objective was to bring together Bikalpa fellowship members and interns and enhance their leadership capacity through various social initiatives. During the event, 42 donors from diverse sectors participated in the blood donation program. The program was organized in public space, and the volunteers engaged in persuading individuals to donate their blood with the slogan of “Give blood, Save Life.” The volunteers also persuaded passersby to donate blood.
Bikalpa also promoted the Economic Freedom Campaign by selling campaign merchandizes like T-shirts, posters, and stickers that raised economic freedom and prosperity issues to the public during the event. The campaign advocates four key areas: Freedom to Enterprise, Rule of Law and Security of Life and Property, Freedom of Choice and Competition, Accountable and Limited Government.
The program was facilitated by BSW students as volunteers and supported by Bikalpa an Alternative , Biratnagar Traffic Police, Red Cross Society Nepal, and individual donors. The event was also covered by local media of Biratnagar.
