Bikalpa Fellowship
Bikalpa is a public policy think tank working at the grassroots to develop a culture that favors individual and economic freedom in spheres of personal lives and policy issues. We do this by empowering people with our research, education, and advocacy programs. COVID -19 is posing a severe threat to our lives in all areas, including education. Bikalpa wants to organize a fellowship program for the young students that will train and educate them beyond their textbook and understand the values of freedom and entrepreneurship.
About the fellowship
Bikalpa fellowship is a knowledge-based capacity building program where students can enroll and benefit from networking and participate in various discussions, training, workshops, and extracurricular activities year-round. Besides this, students will gain knowledge, certificate, internship, campaigning & volunteering opportunities, and a platform to enhance their capacity. The curriculum values on Individual and Economic Freedom, Entrepreneurship, Public policy, Accountability, and Civic leadership will help them educate beyond their textbook.
The Fellowship program will organize the 2 hours orientation program followed by a one-day and three-day training program with further engagement activities. The orientation program will enroll 250 students. One hundred twenty-five students shall be shortlisted for a one-day workshop, and five workshops will be organized. The shortlisted students will be provided the engagements as mentioned earlier and exposure opportunities through Bikalpa. Following an assessment of their performance in those activities, 25 fellows shall advance to a three day Boot camp. These fellows will be closely associated with Bikalpa’s mission and promote the values of economic freedom and entrepreneurship in the region. Students, Civil society members, and young professionals between the age group of 18-25 are highly encouraged to apply for the fellowship program.
Why is it important?
Many organizations work on different social issues in Province no. 1, but hardly any of them are working to promote the values of economic freedom and prosperity and solve the issues through an entrepreneurial approach. Young people are the hope and possibilities for any society; Bikalpa aspires to educate young people who can vocalize the existing social, political, and economic problems and be active as responsible citizens.
